Pleasantly Surprised

I started reading this the other day to my older girls as a request from my second eldest and was pleasantly surprised. Living in Kansas these last six years, we have come to know this story in and out, backwards and forwards, as it is a state Hallmark of a story. But, do I know the "real" story, I guess not from reading the first couple of pages. It is always strange to me how drastically different books are from their movies. I hope to be fully surprised with this one.

The Little Princess, our last book, was truly a delight. Even the classic movie with Shirley Temple dating back many many years ago turned out to be quite a different story from what was in the book. I fell in love with the characters and events even more in the book form and hope to do the same with this book.
